Stretching/Flexibility

Stretching is an important fitness piece that I struggle to enjoy. I have had musculoskeletal issues because of my lack of flexibility. One of my physical therapists told me that “motion is lotion” for your joints. Stretch 5-7 days each week.

Some of the benefits of stretching include:

  • Increased flexibility
  • Increased circulation
  • Increased coordination and better posture
  • Relief of pain and stress
  • Prevention of injury

For those of us who focus more on endurance activities, including a daily stretching/flexibility routine assists in enabling us to exercise without injury. That is a huge motivation for me to keep my stretching/flexibility routine.

Stretch daily to stay on the move!
