I often pass a couple of different cemeteries while road biking.  I decided for the first time to visit these cemeteries on Memorial Day this year.  On this day and other patriotic holidays, cemeteries become a sea of red, white & blue. Flags are placed at gravesites, landscape work is completed, and many come just to remember and show respect for those who gave their lives serving in our armed forces.

This cemetery is in serene location.

It borders a road dotted with orchards that run along and above a winding river.  The view of the mountains to the south is spectacular. What a perfect spot for showing gratitude and for some mindfulness meditation.
