As I was traveling over the mountains yesterday, “Stay Home, Limit Travel, Save Lives” was the message displayed on the highway reader boards. By the time I reached my home in Leavenworth Washington, our govenor had issued a “Stay Home, Stay Healthy”  order.

His order essentially closes all business except for essential businesses for the next two weeks.  It includes a ban on ALL gatherings for social, spiritual, and recreational purposes. The negative economic impact for businesses and their employees is stark.  Find ways to support local businesses in your community. Pick up food or buy gift cards from restaurants you would have been frequenting.  Purchase products from businesses online.

Do your part to support businesses in your local community.  I purchased some terrific Spring/Easter gifts for my family from Schocolat, an outstanding classic European style chocolate shop in Leavenworth.  It is a great way to connect with family and I know it will put a smile on their face when they bite into these tasty chocolate treats:)
