If your physical environment prevents you from getting a good nights rest, make your bedroom sleep-friendly and “Create a tranquil space for sleeping”. After moving to a downtown condo that overlooked a bright and very noisy street, I had to install blackout blinds and use an air conditioner to create a peaceful sleep environment. A consistent, relaxing sleep routine along with a space that supports distraction free sleep should assist you in getting the vital rest you need to feel refreshed after waking:

  • Sleep in a chilly room with lighter weight covers
  • Sleep in a dark room or wear an eye mask
  • Sleep in a quiet room with or without a white noise source
