This is that time of year when our regularly scheduled workouts, may get pushed aside, never to be seen again until the New Year. If you have a home fitness routine, you will have no excuse to bag getting some exercise! Try to include cardio, strength and flexibility into your routine. Establish a home workout routine in case you do not make it to the gym or get in a swim.
Possible home workouts could include:
- Jumping rope
- Climbing stairs
- Power walking
- Internet 15 minute workouts/top at-home exercises
- Using workout DVDs
- Using a few inexpensive home gym tools
These are my toning tools:
- A yoga block and Pilates ring
- Foam roller
- Resistance bands
- Furniture moving men used for sliding
- Massage stick
My home work out routine includes a little stretching, strength training/lifting and usually a fast walk outside or some stairs at my condo for cardio. I also have the above basic home gym tools to keep myself covered-no excuses!
